One of the traditional landmarks in Al-Muzneb city in Al-Qassim region, Al-Majlis market, popularly known as souq, is located to the east of the ancient Bahla palace, which dates back to the tenth century AH. Al-Majlis souk boasts of mud-and-brick stores which are roofed with mud and tamarisk trees wood. In the past, Al-Majlis souk was a famous market selling food and other products for the people of the region. it was also a complex for the manufacturers and craftsmen of the area. Al-Majlis souq was one of the most famous markets in Al-Yamamah region.
Today, Al-Majlis souq became an entertainment outlet and a cultural complex after it has been refurbished and reestablished according to the same old style. The craftsmen gather in the market, which opens every Friday, to show off the ancestral professions. These craftsmen include the slippers makers, smiths, carpenters, incense burner makers and tailors of wool clothes.Tthe visitors of the market will enjoy also watching the beautiful corner of the antique cars that were used in the region in past times. The elderly people usually meet in the market and enjoy remembering the past days and the fragrant old market.
